One of the most impressive chateaus of the region is Chenonceau, designed by women!
Unusual at that time. Construction started in 1515. This chateau is beautifully maintained, with gorgeous gardens, incredible furnishings, and lovely flower arrangements inside.

This is a breathtakingly gorgeous room.
It is a mourning room -- all black with a huge, white flower arrangement,
with so many Stargazer Lilies, some of us could not stay in the room long. Achew!
